StatSheet's CAA Player of the Week for March 4th goes to Drexel's Damion Lee. Towson's Jerome Hairston has been recognized as StatSheet CAA Freshman of the Week. And last but certainly not least, Towson's Rafriel Guthrie is StatSheet's CAA 6th Man of the Week. Lee put up great stats in shooting (60%), rebounding (7.5 per game), and scoring (23 pts per game). The Drexel sophomore put these numbers up in wins against Old Dominion and North Carolina-Wilmington.
Lee led the Dragons in scoring and rebounding with 34 points and 10 rebounds in a close 81-77 win against Old Dominion. He then added 12 points and 2 assists in a 62-46 win against North Carolina-Wilmington.
This is the second StatSheet CAA Player of the Week award for Damion Lee. The runner-up this week is senior A.J. Davis from James Madison. Honorable mention goes to Towson senior Jerrelle Benimon.
StatSheet CAA Freshman of the Week: Towson's Jerome Hairston
Jerome Hairston averaged 32 minutes as a starter for Towson. He was number one among all CAA freshmen in both scoring (13.0 pts per game) and assists (4.5 per game). In a late 85-81 win over George Mason, Hairston contributed 9 points and 5 assists. Following that in close 67-64 win against Hofstra, he led all scoring with 17 points and also put up 4 assists.
This is the second StatSheet CAA Freshman of the Week award for Jerome Hairston. R.J. Hunter from Georgia State gets runner-up. Zach Stahl from Northeastern takes honorable mention. The highest ranking freshman from William & Mary was Terry Tarpey who finished 7th.
StatSheet CAA 6th Man of the Week: Towson's Rafriel Guthrie
Junior Rafriel Guthrie, a 6-3 reserve forward/guard, averaged 23 minutes over the two games for the Tigers. In the win over George Mason, Guthrie put up 6 points and 4 rebounds. During the win against Hofstra, he racked up 10 points on 50% shooting.
Rafriel Guthrie has won the StatSheet CAA 6th Man of the Week an amazing 3 times. A.J. Davis, a senior guard from James Madison, is runner up. Carl Baptiste, a junior guard from Delaware, earns honorable mention. William & Mary has yet to win StatSheet CAA Player of the Week.
